Day trippin'

We had quite an exciting day yesterday! We started out from the grandparents' home in Bremerton (across the water to the west of Seattle), and headed to the Seattle Temple (east of Seattle). We spent some time walking around the grounds, Bridget included, and taking pictures, as seen here. It didn't take up a lot of time, as it was Monday and the temple was closed, of course. But it was nice to see it. Afterwards, we took our trip to the Ballard Locks, north of Seattle. If you're unfamiliar with locks, think the Erie Canal- raising or lowering ships on one side of the locks to be even with the level of the water on the other side of the locks. As it is winter (or pretty close to it), there weren't any ships, but it was still pretty cool to see. There's also a very nice botanical garden by the locks that Bridget enjoyed walking through- especially with all the doggies walking by. :) After THAT, we had dinner at a nice place in downtown Seattle called the Old Spaghetti Factory. We also attempted to attend a Coast Guard Band concert, but Bridget had had enough excitement for one day, so we left early. She was zonked out in the car most of the near-90-minute ride home!
So today was a quieter day, though Bridget was wound up much of the day. It was grandma's birthday, so we did go out to eat at a nice place here in Bremerton. I think Bridget was a little surprised by the camera- usually she's such a ham! Anyway, we had another great day. Sad to say our trip is coming to an end. By this time next week, we'll be home. But by then, we'll also be on the countdown for Daddy to come home! (Dec 20, if you're counting with us)

That is great that you are getting out and touring. :) I'm sure Bridget is having a good time. Yum, yum, isn't the Old Spaghetti Factory a good restaurant? We have them here. Sad to see your trip is ending, but it won't be long until hubby comes home! :)
